Wenger is understandably seeking more fire power following the long term injury suffered by Danny Welbeck which will see the England international miss out on the first half of next season. This has left Arsenal light in attack and Wenger is understood to be very keen on signing Alvaro Morata this summer.
Real Madrid are expected to sign the striker from Juventus this summer and sell for a large profit, no doubt the Spanish club will be licking their lips at the caliber of clubs interested in the 23-year-old striker.
The The Sun are reporting Arsenal will break the bank to sign him for £40million on a £155,000-a-week deal.
The report further claim the Gunners are ready to do direct business with Madrid who are set to activate their £25million buy-back clause on the striker.
Juventus boss Allegri confirmed the 23-year-old will be leaving the club and they have a begun to source ‘possible alternatives’
“The club are working in the transfer market and monitoring possible alternatives,” he toldSky Sport Italia.
“We have a lot of forwards with players who are all in national teams and many young guys.”
Juventus have also not given up hope in signing the striker but the Serie A side would find it difficult to match Arsenal and PSG financially.
“I’ve already given Morata some advice, he needs to stay at Juventus,” he added.
“What did he say? He nodded and I hope he understands I’m saying this for his own good.”
