Leicester City are planning a summer bid for Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and the Gunners are keen to replace the winger with Southampton’s Saido Mane, according to reports.
The young England international has been heavily linked with a summer move away from the Emirates this season after seeing injuries and poor form halt his progress.
Wenger is said to be seriously looking to improve his squad ahead of next season and with Walcott, Iwobi and Campbell all ahead of Chamberlain, It is believed that Wenger could allow him leave the Emirates this summer.
According to the Mirror, Claudio Ranieri sees the 22 year old as the ideal man to bolster his midfield.
The report claims Chamberlain’s situation at Arsenal has been made worse by Wenger’s interest in Saido Mane. Wenger is said to be preparing a £17m bid for the former Salzburg winger after being impressed by his performances this season.
This will definitely open the door for Chamberlain to leave the Emirates and Leicester City are waiting in the wings to snap up the winger.
Southampton are also keen on Chamberlain who is a product of its academy and the Saints wouldn’t mind taking him back.
In other news, Leicester City have also showed their interest in Theo Walcott but Wenger is not willing to sell Walcott this summer hence Chamberlain remains the most realistic option for the Premier League Champions.
Mane scored 11 goals in 37 appearances for Southampton this season and was undoubtedly one of the Saint’s best players.
