Arsenal have tabled a bid of £38.7m ($56.59M) for Alvaro Morata as the player’s agent prepares to begin talks with Real Madrid over activating the player’s buy back clause.
Morata is expected to leave Juventus this season as Real Madrid prepares to activate it’s €30m buy-back clause in the player’s contract and Arsenal are said to have made their first move as Wenger attempts to sign a striker this summer.
According to Italian Journalist Tancredi Palmieri via Arsenal Station, the Gunners have made an official bid of £38.7m as they attempt to close in on the striker ahead of Chelsea.
The Italian journalist revealed on his twitter account:

The Blues are also keen on the striker but Wenger is determined to beat his rivals to the signature of the forward. He is said to have set aside a basic salary worth around £150,000 a week and has now made the first move by lodging an official offer.
Morata has scored 15 Serie A goals for Juventus since joining the club in 2014.
