Departing Arsenal midfielder Thomas Rosicky is determined to play on next season despite injuries limiting him to just one appearance for the Gunner this season.

The Czech Republic man who is gradually closing in on his 36th birthday insists he is not going to retire from the game under the cloud of injuries.

The midfielder who spent 10 years at Arsenal was speaking about his future as he prepared to team up with the Czech national team for the Euro 2016 competition.

“Right after the injury I knew that I did not want to end my career like this,” Rosicky said, as quoted by Standard Sport.

“I started to get messages, not only from my team-mates, but from people from all around the world saying that my story is a great inspiration for the others.

“I got a message from a boy in a camp in Syria that one of the remaining hopes he has is wanting to see me playing again. That touched me.

“I saw the tremendous importance football has to people’s lives. I was moved and it really influenced me and inspired me not to give up. This was one of the impulses for me to carry on and not say goodbye to my career while sitting on the bench.”

The midfielder is wanted by his former club Sparta Prague while his representative has previously confirmed clubs from UAE and MLS are interested in signing the 36 year old. However, Rosicky will wait until after the summer championships to carefully decide his next club.
