Arsenal’s search for a left back has taken them to France as Wenger is eyeing a move for Lille’s left back Djibril Sidibe.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of left backs within and outside the Premier League as Wenger considers sanctioning the exit of Kieran Gibbs who is said to be in search of regular first team football. It is believed Wenger would sell Gibbs should he find a suitable replacement for the English defender.
In the search for a replacement, Arsenal have been linked with Kieran Tierney, Ben Chilwell, Raphael Gueirrero amongst others. But a new name is in the mix now as Spanish newspaper Fichajes via HITC Sport claims Arsene Wenger has sent delegates to France to negotiate a deal for Sidibe.
Everton have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Lille to sign the defender for £10m but Arsenal are determined to beat the Merseyside club to the signature of the 23 year old.
Sidibe is a versatile defender who can also play on the right side of the defense. He was very impressive for Lille this season and has made up to 97 league appearances for the French side since joining them in 2012.
Watford are also said to be interested in 23 year old.
