Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, according to reports.
The German international has been linked with a move away from the Emirates on numerous occasions despite publicly stating he is happy at Arsenal.
The midfielder currently has two years left in his Arsenal contract and it believes the midfielder won’t open talks on a new deal until after the European Championships later this summer.
According to the Sun via HITC sport, Bayern Munich are hoping to take advantage of the delayed contract talks and convince the German to move to the Alianz Arena.
The report claims the 27 year old has rejected Arsenal’s advances to initiate talks on a new contract claiming he wants to fully focus on the Euros and this has given Bayern hope.
The report further added that Ozil is determined to win trophies now that he is in the prime of his career and Arsene Wenger’s dealings in the summer transfer window will be crucial to the German international’s decision. Ozil wants Arsenal to spend big on quality players to make the squad one that is capable of winning trophies. The midfielder has always revealed his desire to see Wenger sign quality players.
‘The new contract being offered by Arsenal is said to be worth about £200,000 a week.
