Yet another day, yet another defender being linked with a move to the Emirates.

Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on signing a centre defender this summer as he attempts to shore up his defense which came under criticism this season as the team stuttered in the title race.

The highlight of the Gunner’s defensive woes was against West Ham at Upton park where the Hammers salvaged a 3-3 draw despite the Gunners going 2-0 ahead. Wenger is now said to be very interested in finding a new partner for Koscielny.

According to Italian newspaper Gazetta Dello Sport via Ibtimes, Arsenal are seriously interested in signing Inter Milan’s Jeison Murillo in this summer’s transfer window.

The defender was impressive for the San Siro side this season and Inter Milan are believed to be willing to listen to offers in the region of €25m, a figure which Arsenal can comfortably match.

The centre back could be open to a move away from Inter as he earlier remained coy about his future with the Italian club claiming his future is an “unknown quantity”.

“My future? It is always an unknown quantity and we’ll have to see what happens,” Murillo told La Stampa , as quoted by Ibtimes.

“Having said that, I am very happy here. Roberto Mancini talks to us when necessary, has his ideas and is to be respected.”

Inter are already eyeing up replacements for the defender should a suitor show strong interest.

Stoke City and Leicester City are also keeping close watch on Murillo and both clubs have indicated their interest in the 24 year old.
