Celtic Star Tom Rogic has been urged to join Arsenal this summer should the opportunity arise.

Rogic impressed for Australia in last week’s Friendly against England and despite being on the losing side, the 23-year-old midfielder caught attentions with his display.

Arsenal are said to be weighing up a bid for the central midfielder and it is believed that a bid in the region of £8m will secure the move and the player’s country man Mark Bosnich has urged the midfielder to jump at the opportunity of moving to the Emirates, claiming learning and training with world class players at the Colney training ground will help his development. Bosnich believes the midfielder has what it takes to succeed at the Emirates.

Bosnich said, as quoted by the Daily Express: “You don’t know until you get there (if the move will suit you personally) but the type of football they play suits Rogic.

“Let’s not kid ourselves and be brutally honest, if he went there, the man in front of him is Mesut Ozil. However, what a man to learn from, that would be fantastic.

“It makes it better, you feel 10 foot tall.

“They’re rumours and you have them through your career, good and bad.

They’re just rumours at the moment, they haven’t been verified by either side, but it’s still great news to be linked.”

“In my opinion, he deserves it. He packed himself off abroad and worked very hard.

“It’s always good to watch him. He just needs to make sure he can do what he did for 15, 20 minutes in the first half [against England] and do it for a bit longer, that’s the key.

“I thought they would’ve been impressed, especially in the first-half, but they would’ve marked down: want it done for longer periods.”

Celtic new boss Brendan Rodgers is determined to keep hold of the midfielder but could be left powerless should Wenger step up his interest
