Any hope of luring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Emirates this summer has been dashed as the player refuted reports linking him with a move away from Borussia Dortmund.
The striker has been heavily linked with a £70m move to Arsenal with Manchester United and Real Madrid reportedly interested in the Gabon striker.
Wenger is in search of a top class centre forward to lead the line next season and it was reported that he is keeping a close watch at Aubameyang. However, the French man will have to turn his attention else where as the striker has ruled out leaving BVB this summer.
The Forward said he is happy at the club and recently held a meeting with the club officials to discuss their plans for the future.
Following the conclusion of the meeting, Aubameyang has decided not to follow the path of Matt Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan out of the club.
‘I feel really good in Dortmund,’ Aubameyang told Fussballtransfers.com [via the Metro] .
‘I don’t know what the future brings, but I feel really good.’
Rumours linking the forward away from the club was strong last week after he missed Gabon’s game last weekend.
‘This is why I cancelled the trip with the Gabon national team,’ he added. ‘I had meetings with the board to talk about the future.
‘It’s strange to lose two key players, especially since they were the backbone of the team.
‘But I trust the club. There are many ways to find solutions and to make good transfers.’
