Barcelona have denied reports linRking them with a move for Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin. The 21 year old has been linked with a move back to the Camp Nou by reports in Spain but the Catalan giants have denied those reports.

Barcelona are set to lose Dani Alves to Juventus this summer and are in search of a new right back but the club’s Sporting director Robert Fernandez says they are not interested in signing Bellerin.

“I haven’t raised [Bellerin] at this point. He’s a player who we know because he grew up here but at this time I’m not raising anything in this regard,” Fernandez told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by the Express.

‘Aleix Vidal was signed [last summer] thinking Alves could go. We trust in him. He was having a fantastic season at Sevilla and we have the emergence of Sergi Roberto.

“Douglas? I want him to play. And if he doesn’t have that possibility we will look for a solution. I said a few months ago I want him to get minutes, that it’d be best for him and the club.”

This will come as a big news to the Gooners who are very keen for the club to keep hold of the Spanish youngster. Bellerin has grown to become a key player at the Emirates being one of the first names on the squad sheet on match days. The defender featured in all but two league games for the Gunners this season and has forged a reputation as one of the best fullbacks in the world. With the club looking to strengthen considerably this summer it is exciting to see the club keeping hold of its best players.
