According to reports, Arsenal are expected to announce this signing of World Cup winner Kelechi Nwakali.

The Nigerian international having passed Arsenal medicals is expected to arrive North London to finally sign for the Gunners.

The Golden ball winner guided his country Nigeria in winning the Under-17 World Cup back in November which earned him the most valuable player of the tournament.

His agent, Allwell who happens to be his brother confirmed they have reached an agreement with Arsenal ahead of Ajax who was also in the race to sign the Whizkid.

Allwel believes Arsenal will be a more place for his brother to develop and follow the footsteps of Alex Iwobi in breaking into the first team.

Allwell said: “[Ekeocha] came with an offer from Ajax Amsterdam and Arsenal’s offer was three times more and we are talking about euros and pounds here,” he said.

“Arsenal is bigger than Ajax in developing young players. Kelechi has signed with Arsenal, he has done a medical, let him [Ekeocha] sue me if he’s aggrieved not Arsenal.

“I represent Kelechi, nobody can represent my brother. When I was in London, he [Ekeocha] was calling Arsenal not to sign him and the club informed me.”

However, his team-mate Samuel Chukwueze who has also completed medicals with Arsenal might not be as luck as Kelechi as a fee was not reached with Diamond Football Academy.
