This report is according to the Metro, they are reporting Arsenal have been given the green light to sweep in for Wolfsburg left back Ricardo Rodriguez after the left-back confirmed his interest in joining Arsenal this summer.
The report further claims Arsene Wenger has shown he is ready to do business by triggering his £19m release clause last month.
Rodriguez has revealed he would like to play with Swiss mate Granit Xhaka who just completed a 30 million pounds move.
When asked about joining Arsenal, he said:
“That would be exciting, yes, especially because the room arrangement at Arsenal would be fixed as well.”
Rodriguez, is frustrated at Wolfsburg as they failed to qualify for European Championship having finished in eighth-placed in the Bundesliga last season.
Wolfsburg’s sporting director Klaus Allofs has admitted that they have agreed to sell the left-back after he made it clear he wants to leave this summer. Allofs is quoted as saying by theMetro:
‘The agreement was indeed made with Ricardo. As we have recently entertained, was clear: His idea is to leave us.’
