Arsenal are getting closer in their attempts to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to reports.
Wenger is seriously interested in the attacking midfielder and it is believed the French man have made a move to sign the 27-year-old after being encouraged by the player’s camp.
According to the Independent via the Daily Express, Arsenal are confident of signing the midfielder this summer.
The midfielder joined BVB in 2013 from Shakhtar Donetsk and has been a key player for the club till date. However, with one year left in his contract, the midfielder is said to be pushing for a move to the Emirates and have rejected BVB’s advances to offer him a new deal.
It is believed that a bid of £25m will be able to secure the services of the 27-year-old and that should not be a problem for Wenger to match.
Should Mkhitaryan complete a move to the Emirates in recent weeks, he will join Granit Xhaka as the second player to move to the Emirates from the Bundesliga this summer.
Mkhitaryan scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists for BVB in the German Bundesliga last season. The Armenia international has previously revealed it would be a dream come true to play for Arsenal.
