Jamie Vardy could snub Arsenal transfer this summer, according to Standard Sports.

The striker’s release clause has been activated by the Gunners and he has been offered a four-year deal worth around a £100,000 a week. In an attempt to keep the striker at the King Power stadium, Leicester City offered the player a counter offer to that of Arsenal.

This has left Vardy torn by the situation and he has decided not to make a decision about his future until after the Euros. However, sources close to the England camp has revealed that the player is leaning towards staying at the King Power stadium. It is believed the player has discussed with several of his international teammates and is now 80% likely to stay with the Premier League Champions.

It is believed despite the striker being lured by the idea of moving to one of England’s big clubs, he still has doubts over a move to the Emirates. However former Gunner Alan Smith who moved from Leicester City to Arsenal in 1987 has urged Vardy to follow his footsteps this summer.

“I know Leicester are in the Champions League but Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the country,” Smith told talkSPORT .

“I will probably upset Leicester fans, but my advice is I think he should grab it [the chance to join Arsenal].

“The chances are this this kind of opportunity won’t come again and you have got to make the very most of your opportunities during the course of your career.”

Wenger is already working on alternative target to Vardy as the French tactician fears the English man could snub the chance of moving to the Emirates.
