Arsenal have emerged as favourites to sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, according to reports.
Wenger’s search for a striker is no longer a secret as the French man is keen to sign a forward to challenge Giroud next season. The club has activated the release clause of Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy but the Foxes striker is stalling on a move to the Emirates and Wenger seems to be exploring other options.
According to Skybet via the Daily Express, Arsenal lead Manchester City, PSG and Tottenham in the race to sign Sturridge. The Bookmarkers have placed Wenger’s side at (4/1) to sign the Liverpool man while PSG is (10/1) to sign the 26 year old. Manchester City and Tottenham were linked with the forward at some point during last season and they are placed at (12/1) and (18/1) respectively. But the England man is being tipped to remain at Anfield with Liverpool at (1/3) to keep their star man.
The striker has scored 43 league goals in 69 appearances for Liverpool since he moved to the Anfield club. He scored his team’s only goal in the Europa league final with a well taken strike and also showed his quality for England in the three lions 2-1 win against Wales on Thursday. If not for his injury record, the striker would have been a perfect addition to the Gunner’s side.
