Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is confident of completing a move to Manchester United this summer.

The Armenia midfielder has been linked with a move to the Emirates with some reports claiming Wenger has made the BVB man his first choice striker. However, Wenger is set to suffer a huge blow as Manchester United are currently leading the race for the 27 year old.

The Mirror claims the Old Trafford club have had a £19m bid knocked back with Dortmund insisting they won’t sell the playmaker.

But the player’s agent is doing everything possible to force a summer move for the player but the sad news is it wouldn’t be to the Emirates. According to the Times via the Daily Star, Mkhitaryan is confident he will move to Manchester United this summer, snubbing Arsenal in the process.

His agent, Raiola believes Dortmund will change their stance before the closure of the transfer window. A quote on the times accredited to the player’s agent is:

“He wants to go to Manchester United and we are still trying to resolve the situation.”

Wenger is reportedly interested in strengthening the right wing and signing Mkhitaryan would have been perfect for the club. The playmaker could have formed a super creative triumvirate with Ozil and Sanchez, but it seems the player would prefer to move over to Manchester. However, due to the unpredictability of the transfer window, we wouldn’t be surprised if Wenger steps up his game and beat the Old Trafford side to the playmaker who scored 11 Bundesliga goals last season.
