Arsenal are interested in signing Albania full back Elseid Hysaj, according to the Daily Star.
The 22 year old who featured for Albania against Switzerland on Saturday is one of the most talented players in his country. Wenger is said to be very keen on the defender due to his ability to also play on the left side of defense also.
Hysaj is a right back by trade but he is capable of playing as a left back and Wenger who is a fan of versatile player’s is now very keen on the 22 year old.
There are question marks over the right back and left back position at the Emirates and a move for Hysaj could go a long way in answering some of those questions. Arsenal have doubts over backups to first choice fullbacks Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal.
Mathieu Debuchy is currently seeking a move away from the Emirates while the future of Carl Jenkinson who has been out with a long term injury is also up in the air. Kieran Gibbs is said to be agitating for a move away from the Emirates after losing his first team spot to Monreal and Hysaj can easily slot into any of the positions should Arsenal sign him.
Hysaj had an impressive 12months with Napoli last season after joining the club from Empoli for about £5m. It is expected that a bid of £15m ( 19.71m) would be enough to sign the defender this summer.
Chelsea and Barcelona have also been attracted by the player’s performances but it is Wenger who is prepared to follow his interest with a concrete offer.
Arsenal are also monitoring Bayern Munich’s Rafinha as Wenger searches for a quality back up for Bellerin.
