Arsene Wenger has reportedly turned to France defender Lucas Digne in his search for a left back this summer.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of left backs as Wenger attempts to strengthen his squad. It is believed the French man is preparing for the possible departure of Kieran Gibbs who has informed the club he would be interested in a move away from the Emirates in search of regular first team football. Wenger is prepared to allow Gibbs leave if he signs a replacement and according to Kickoff.co.uk, Arsenal are interested in signing Lucas Digne.
Digne spent last season on loan at Roma and impressed with the Serie A club and it seems his performances has not gone unnoticed.
The report claims AS Roma are keen to sign the player on a permanent deal but there is a possibility they could sell the player immediately for a larger profit and Wenger is keen to swoop should that happen.
The French full back is currently with Didier Deschamp’s squad at the Euro 2016 currently acting as deputy to Patrice Evra.
Arsenal have already been linked with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell and Wolfsburg Ricardo Rodriguez.
