Arsenal are reportedly weighing a summer move for Southampton winger Saido Mane, according to reports.
Wenger’s desire to bolster the squad this summer is no longer in doubt. Fresh from completing the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach for £33m, the manager is still working actively to improve the quality in the squad.
According to the Daily Mail via the Metro, Wenger is seriously considering making a move for Mane and the Senegalese winger is one of Wenger’s target to improve his attacking options.
The report claims the forward is high on Wenger’s wishlist as the French man seeks for alternative targets to Jamie Vardy.
It is no surprise that Wenger is keen on the Southampton man as the French manager has been following Mane since his days at Red bull Salzburg.
Mane has been impressive since moving to the Premier League and it is believed Southampton will resist all offers for their star man.
However, the report claims a fee in the region of £35m could force Southampton into selling the winger. Whether Wenger is prepared to pay such huge fee for Mane or move on to other targets remains unknown.
Arsenal have already been linked with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Alvaro Morata this summer.
