Arsene Wenger wants to make Olympic Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette his second summer signing following the capture of Granit Xhaka, according to a report in the Sport Review.
Italian Journalist Emanuele Giulianelli revealed via his twitter account that Lacazette along with two other strikers feature prominently on Wenger’s wish list.
He tweeted: Lacazette is on Arsenal list along with Slimani, although Lukaku was ahead of them both. Very little movement at the moment with the Euros.
Wenger has been making efforts to sign a striker since the end of last season but is yet to be successful. The French man is now set to step up his interest in Lacazette in an attempt to make the French striker his second summer signing with Wenger also keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon’s Islam Slimani and Everton’ Romelu Lukaku.
Slimani was in sensational form for Sporting throughout last season and his performances have attracted Wenger. Lukaku is another player high on Wenger’s radar but the Everton man would be the hardest to sign as the Merseyside club are not interested in selling the 23 year old. Everton have even made move to keep Lukaku out of Arsenal’s reach by offering the player a new deal.
Wenger is not prepared to give up in his attempts to sign a striker this summer and would make sure he brings one in to compete with Giroud next season.
