Barcelona are reportedly weighing up whether to make a move for Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin this summer or not.
The Spanish club recently lost Dani Alves to Juventus and are keen on signing a quality replacement for the Brazilian.
According to the Evening Standard via the Daily Star, Barcelona have identified Bellerin as a perfect replacement for Alves.
However, Arsenal are unwilling to sell the defender this summer and Wenger would resist all Barcelona’s attempts to sign the 21 year old. Wenger has stated in the past that the era when the club had to sell its best players are long gone stressing he is determined to keep his squad intact ahead of next season.
Bellerin who has three years left in his contract at the Emirates have also revealed his desire to stay at the club for a long time dashing any hope the Catalan giants had in signing him.
“I say every year that England is my home now,” he was quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.
“For many years I have lived in England. I have my family there, I am living with my girlfriend there. I am very happy, so I don’t see myself anywhere other than Arsenal.”
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to offer the player a new long term contract before the start of next season.
