Arsenal could miss out on top target N’Golo Kante, according to reports.
The midfielder who was impressive for Leicester City in his debut season in the Premier League is reportedly open to a move away from the King Power Stadium.
The France midfielder is being linked with a move to Arsenal with Manchester United and Chelsea also keen on his signature.
Wenger is a big fan of the player and would love to bring him to the Emirates should the opportunity arise. However, Wenger could be landed a big blow, as the Telegraph via Football Talk, claims Kante would prefer to move to Chelsea ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.
The report claims the midfielder is attracted to the idea of playing under new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Although Kante hasn’t ruled out a move to Arsenal or Manchester United but would prefer a move to West London.
Kante has a £20m release clause in his contract at Leicester and it is believed interested clubs could bid higher than the release clause and Leicester have the right to accept the highest bid only.
The report then added that the Premier League trio do not want to trigger a bidding war as it could inflate the player’s transfer fee.
