Tottenham are weighing up a move for Arsenal target Mauro Icardi.
The prolific Argentine striker is being linked with a move to the Emirates as Wenger attempts to strengthen his strikeforce but the French man would now face serious competition for North London Rivals Spurs.
According to the Sunday Express, Spurs are preparing a £38m bid to beat Arsenal to the signature of Icardi.
Pochettino is keen on signing a striker this summer and after missing out on several targets will now do whatever he can to sign Icardi.
According to Italian transfer guru David Amoyal via the report, Spurs have already sent representatives to discuss with Icardi’s agent and have already indicated their willingness to pay a transfer fee of £38m.
Arsenal and West Ham are also in the running to sign the striker but it is unknown how much Wenger would be willing to spend on the Argentine.
However, Inter Milan could decide not to sell the striker this summer, the striker was an important part of Roberto Mancini’s squad last season and scored 16 goals in 33 appearances.
Icardi has the talent to develop into one of the best strikers in the world and should Inter Milan be tempted to sell, Wenger should do all he can to sign the striker ahead of Tottenham.
