Arsenal are set to suffer another blow in its attempt to sign a striker this summer, according to a report in the Daily Star.
Wenger is seriously interested in signing a proven striker and the French man is working hard to bring one to the Emirates but he is yet to be successful in his attempts.
First it was Jamie Vardy who rejected a move to Arsenal despite the club activating his £20m release clause. The French man could suffer yet another disappointment as his new target Alexandre Lacazette is set to remain at Olympic Lyon.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Lacazette with Wenger fueling those reports when he failed to rule out a move for the striker last week.
Lyon’s president Jean Micheal Aulas has now revealed Lacazette would not be moving to Arsenal this summer.
Alas said: “We had some calls but Alexandre (Lacazette) will stay.
“I believe he wants to and the coach counts on him.”
This will come as a big blow to Arsenal and the fans who are hoping the club sign a top striker this summer to enable us challenge for the Premier League title next season.
Lacazette would have been a perfect signing for Arsenal as he is one of the best strikers in the French Ligue one.
