Corinthians youngster Maycon is being touted as one of the most talented players in Brazil and has been watched by a number of top clubs in Europe of recent.
According to Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte via RedLondon.net, Arsenal have made a move to sign Maycon and have contacted Corinthians to ask about the availability of the 18 year old.
The report claims the Gunners have been monitoring the defender since he was 15 and now wants to bring him over to North London.
The report also claims the Gunners are not the only club to have enquired about the starlet but are hopeful the 18 year old will move to the Emirates just like Denilson did in 2006.
The 18 year old is expected to cost Arsenal as much as €7m but that shouldn’t be a problem for the club if we are really interested in the promising teenager.
