Arsene Wenger would do whatever it takes to sign Alvaro Morata this summer, according to reports. The Gunners have been linked with a number of top strikers across Europe as Wenger attempts to improve his strike force.
Top of Wenger’s wish list appears to be Real Madrid striker Morata and according to AS via the Metro, Arsenal are looking to double Morata’s wages to £144,000 a week in order to secure the services of the 23-year-old.
The report added that Morata is looking to leave Madrid this summer if he isn’t given assurances regarding playing time and Arsenal are prepared to tempt him with a huge salary package.
The striker is one of the most sought after strikers in the world this summer as Chelsea and PSG are also keen on his services. It is understood that Real Madrid would not prevent the striker from moving to Arsenal should he decide to leave but would demand a hefty sum of money from the Gunners.
Morata was Spain’s first choice striker in the Euro 2016 competition scoring three goals for the La Rojas before being eliminated by Italy in the Round of 16. He would be able to provide competition for Olivier Giroud should he move to the Emirates this summer.
