Arsenal have taken a huge step towards signing a striker as the club have reportedly agreed personal terms with Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgium striker has previously revealed that he is open to a move away from Everton and also revealed his preference of moving to a club playing in the Champions League.
The 23-year-old striker has left his agent Mino Raiola to sort out his future. Lukaku said, “It’s my agent who is dealing with that aspect.”
Everton has pegged a £65m ($84.5m) price tag on their star striker but it believed if they get a bid within the rejoin of £40m ($52m) bid they will be willing to do business.
The Sun reports Wenger was disappointed after his side failed to land Vardy.
“Arsene is keen to get a new striker in as soon as possible, but won’t rush anything and overspend. Olivier Giroud is very much in his plans, but he wants to get someone in and was upset about losing out on Jamie Vardy,” The Sun quoted a source as saying.
However, should Wenger fail to sign Lukaku he will shift his attention towards Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette and have held talks with his representative.
Lukaku scored 18 league goals for Everton last term and would be a very good signing should Wenger manage to get the big Belgian over to the Emirates.
