Former Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie is being linked with a move back to the club.
The Dutch international left Arsenal for Manchester United in 2012 in a move that angered both Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger. He has since then moved to Turkish side Fenerbahce and after one year in Turkey, he is set for a move back to England.
It is understood, the striker has a preference of returning to London. And according to the Independent via the Mirror, Van Persie could return to the Emirates this summer.
The striker would not be a popular choice among the Gunners supporters due to the way he left Arsenal in 2012 but should he still possess his quality he had while with us, it would definitely be a bargain swoop.
West Ham and Crystal Palace have also been linked with the striker and it is thought the player has been offered to both clubs.
Van Persie fell out with Fenerbahce coach last season and is now keen on a move away. The Turkish club are also open to the idea of selling the striker with club president Azil Yildirim confirming last week that the club would consider any bid for the striker.
“Van Persie? We’re waiting for buyers, if he wants to be sold, Yildirim said.”
Van Persie scored 132 goals in 277 appearances for Arsenal in his first stint and was the club’s captain before his departure.
