Arsenal are set to approach Chelsea over signing a key member of their squad this summer, according to reports.
Both clubs did business last summer when Arsenal snapped up Petr Cech for a fee of about £10m. At the time it was thought that the Blues goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon would follow Petr Cech to the Emirates but the move was blocked by Roman Abramovich.
With new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte keen on bringing his backroom staffs to Stamford Bridge, Lollichon future at the club is now under threat and according to the Metro, the goalkeeping coach could move to Arsenal this summer.
The Mirror via the report claims Lollichon and Thibaut Courtois have a poor relationship between them and that was partly responsible for the goalkeeper’s below average performances last term. Conte is keen on bringing his long term friend and goalkeeping coach Gianluca spinelli to Stamford bridge this summer, hence spelling the end of Lollinchon’s stay at Chelsea.
The report added that the development will alert Arsenal who would be keen to reunite Lollichon with Petr Cech as the pair worked together since 2007 before the latter’s move to Arsenal last summer.
Should Arsenal snap up Lollichon, it is claimed he would be asked to work alongside current goalkeeping coach Garry Peyton who has been at the club for over a decade.
