Arsenal have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid centre-back Lucas Hernandez as a possible long-term replacement for Per Mertesacker.
According to Sky Sports, Hernandez’s move to the Emirates could happen soon as Arsene Wenger looks serious in doing business for the 20-year-old.
The Frenchman was impressive for the Spanish club as he featured in 16 games for Atletico Madrid.
Hernandez joined manager Diego Simeone’s side in 2007 and progressed from the team B to break into the senior team due to his brilliant performances.
However, it will take a lot to sign the left-footed centre-back as he is highly rated, for Arsenal to sign him they would be ready to offer a considerable bid to lure him to the Premier League as his contract runs until the summer of 2019.
There is no doubt he will be a perfect pair for Laurent Koscielny as Mertesacker is getting older and have shown cause for concern in defense.
