According to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, claims Arsenal offered a transfer bid for Lille star Djibril Sidibe before he signed for Monaco on Friday.
Arsenal have been linked with an array of stars this summer but have thus far only signed two players Granit Xhaka and striker Takumo Asamo.
The Gunners are believed to be in the lookout for a central back and also a striker this summer but it looks like they have missed out in signing Sidibe after a late bid from the North Londoners.
Surprisingly, Italian journalist Giulianelli has claimed that Arsenal had a bid for 23-year-old defender Sidibe accepted by Lille before the player opted to join Monaco.
Shortly after his tweet, Monaco confirmed they have signed Sidibe on a five-year deal.
