Chelsea have moved ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports.
The striker has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal but it seems the club could miss out on the 23-year-old striker after Antonio Conte’s team forged ahead of us in the race to sign the striker.
Real Madrid recently activated the player’s buy back club after he has spent two years at Juventus and according to Spanish Publication Marca via the Express, the club are looking to sell him immediately for a huge profit.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are all said to be interested in the striker but the report claims it is Chelsea who lead the race as the striker wants to work with Antonio Conte.
Arsene Wenger is now preparing to tempt the striker by doubling the player’s wages but Wenger has reservations about Real Madrid’s valuation. It is believed the Spanish club want as much as £64m for the striker and Wenger is unwilling to pay that much. Wenger will be hoping to convince Madrid to lower their valuation and also convince the player to move to the Emirates instead of Stamford bridge.
The striker scored 27 goals in 93 appearances in all competitions for Juventus. Although his stats isn’t eye catching, it is believed the striker would be able to provide competition for Giroud should he move to the Emirates.
