Arsenal are still interested in signing Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo and are keeping close tabs on the 24-year-old defender according reports.
The defender was linked with a move to the Emirates a few weeks ago but the links have since died down but Gazetta Dello Sport via Inside Football, Arsenal along with Bayern Munich will continue to monitor the defender’s situation at Inter ahead of a potential summer move.
The report claims Inter Milan are closing in on the signature of Argentine Centre back Ezequiel Garay and should Roberto Mancini’s men complete the signing of the defender, Murillo could be allowed to leave the club.
Bayern Munich have lined up Murillo as a replacement for Medhi Benatia who is close to joining Juventus.
Wenger sees Murillo as a perfect partner for Koscielny next season as he attempts to Bolster a defense which came under criticism last season.
It is believed that the defender is open to a move away from Inter Milan after one season at the Serie A giants, although won’t force a move away from the club should Inter be unwilling to sell. Last month the defender revealed his future at Inter is far from certain.
“My future? It is always an unknown quantity and we’ll have to see what happens,” Murillo told La Stampa.
“Having said that, I am very happy here. Roberto Mancini talks to us when necessary, has his ideas and is to be respected.”
