Arsenal have held talks with Olympic Lyon over the purchase of French striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The striker has been linked with a move to the Emirates all summer and it appears the Gunners have finally made an attempt to sign the 25-year-old.
According to the Daily Mail via the Express, Arsenal have been told to cough out a fee of £42m for the striker’s services.
Contrary to a report published by the Telegraph few days ago, Olympic Lyon insists the striker doesn’t have a release clause in his contract and they are prepared to get as much as they want from any deal.
Wenger have already held talks with the player’s camp but he isn’t interested in meeting Lyon’s demands.
West Ham and Tottenham have also been linked with the striker, meaning Wenger would have to make a decision as soon as possible or risk missing out on the 25 year old.
The French man is keen on signing a striker but is determined to buy at the price he thinks is fair for all parties. The French man have also been linked with a move for Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and is also reluctant to pay Madrid’s £64m price tag.
