Arsenal Legend Ray Palour has revealed the positions Arsene Wenger needs to strengthen this summer. Wenger wants to strengthen the squad this summer and is keen to splash the cash in order to get the team challenging for the league title next term. Wenger has already completed the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach but the French tactician is still keen on bringing in more players and it is believed a striker and a centre defender is top of Wenger’s wish list.

Parlour has now urged Wenger to sign a midfielder along with a centre defender and a striker.

‘It’s not rocket science for Arsenal fans who they want. They need another striker, they’re desperate for another striker,’ as quoted by the Metro.

‘I know Lukaku’s been mentioned, Griezmann – who we’d love to see at Arsenal – as well. That sort of quality is what they need.

‘They missed out on Suarez a few years ago. He would have been perfect for them to maybe go on and win the league.

‘For me, centre-half is key as well. Mertesacker’s got that little bit older, and Gabriel’s not really settled yet, maybe he’ll get better when he gets used to the Premier League.

‘But certainly a centre-half for me, and maybe one more midfielder. They lost Arteta, Rosicky, and Flamini, who didn’t play on a regular basis but you need that squad of players.

‘Xhaka who they brought in is a very good player, had a very good tournament for Switzerland. He’s efficient, he’s good on the ball, so he’ll fit well in to the squad.

‘But they need, probably right down the spine of the team, three players, and they could probably have a chance of winning the league.’
