Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has revealed he isn’t satisfied with his first season at the Emirates.
The Goalkeeper joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a £11m deal last summer and it was thought the Czech Republic international would be able to push the team to the league title last season. However, the club lost out on the title to Leicester City and Cech has revealed his disappointment in not being able to win the title.
The club started last season in good form but everything began to take a different turn in January which eventually led to the club finishing second last term and Cech claims the team was disappointed to have finished behind Leicester City.
‘We were disappointed,’ Cech told Sky Sports, as quoted by the Metro.
‘We thought that we were good enough to challenge for the title and to be in the title race until the last game.
‘Unfortunately, Leicester did remarkably well and it was a historical achievement for them.
‘We couldn’t match them but we finished second which was the best finish for Arsenal for a long time.
‘There were a lot of positives from our last campaign but obviously we would like to carry that on and improve for the next season because we finished empty-handed and that is not what we wanted.’
The club will be hoping to do better next term, Arsenal kick start it’s 2016/2017 campaign against Liverpool on Sunday 14th August.
