Arsenal have been boosted in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund Centre back, Neven Subotic, according to reports.
The Gunners are rumoured to be interested in the defender as Wenger seeks for defensive reinforcements ahead of next season.
Reports in Germany claims the defender has been given permission to talk with clubs interested in his services after he was told he would not be part of Thomas Tuchel’s plan next term. Now Italian Journalist Emanuele Giulianelli via Sport Review has revealed the Gunners are leading the race to sign the Serbian international.
The Journalist revealed via his twitter handle that Arsenal are close to signing Subotic as the defender prefers a move to the Emirates.
He tweeted: Subotic deal getting closer: about 4m£ difference in valuations but player wants Arsenal move ahead of other interested clubs #afc #Gunners
The Journalist claims both clubs are £4m apart on the player’s value. With the player reportedly interested in moving to the Emirates, it is believed both clubs will reach an agreement soon. Should Subotic complete a move to the Emirates, he will likely partner Laurent Koscielny at the heart of the defense next season.
Subotic has spent eight years at BVB winning two Bundesliga title and his experience of top flight football will be a plus to our team.
