Arsenal are being touted as favourites to sign Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to reports.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Newcastle midfielder and bookmarkers have now placed the club as favourites to win his signature.
The midfielder is expected to leave relegated Newcastle this summer and his impressive performances at the Euro 2016 has increased the midfielder’s chances of leaving the Magpies. With Arsenal and Liverpool being the two main clubs linked with the midfielder, Skybet via HITC sport has placed the Gunners at 2/1 to sign the midfielder. Liverpool are placed at 8/1 while PSG at 10/1. Manchester United and Everton are both at 12/1 to sign the midfielder.
Despite Arsenal being seen as favourites for his signature, it is unlikely that the Gunners will make a move for the France international, with the recent signing of Granit Xhaka, the club is well stocked in midfield and with other positions needing attention, Wenger is not expected to shell out £35m on Sissoko. However, the Gunners manager is a fan of the midfielder and recently hailed the midfielder’s performances in France’s run to the Euro 2016 final.
He said: “It is true that Sissoko has been remarkable. One could have asked the question before the [Germany] game: does [N’Golo] Kante come into the eleven? Didier has opted for stability since the team had won convincingly and he had reason to do so with Umtiti and Sissoko.”
