Arsenal have been boosted in their attempts to sign Germany international, Julian Draxler as the player is keen on a move to the Emirates, according to a report in the Daily Star.
Wenger who is a big fan of the 22 year old playmaker is said to be interested in bringing him to the Emirates this summer. The boss reportedly kept a close eye on Draxler’s performances at the Euro 2016 competition and it is believed that he was more than impressed with what he saw.
The Sun claims Wenger has tabled a £43m bid for the midfielder but was turned down. However Italian Journalist Emanuel Giulianelli has revealed that the Gunners are yet to make an official move for the forward but the club’s interest in the 22 year old is concrete. The Journalist also went further to add that the player is interested in moving to the Emirates and has been hoping to be an Arsenal player since his time at Schalke 04. The journalist also claimed Draxler’s agent Roger Witmann held talks with Arsenal over a possible switch to the Emirates.
“Draxlers agent has been in contact with Wenger though. No official bid by Arsenal just yet”
“Draxler would be very keen on the move: he tried to go to Arsenal for the past 2 years”
Draxler joined Wolfsburg last summer from Schalke 04 and was impressive for the Bundesliga side last season but he is more than willing to leave the club he joined only one year ago to complete a dream move to Arsenal.
