According to the Daily Mirror, who cite sources from Italy reports Arsenal have made contact with Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo and the report further claims the Gunners are in talks with his representative and are willing to pay €18m.
The centre back position is one that Wenger wants to strengthen this summer and it appears the French tactician is looking at the possibility of signing Murillo.
It is believed Inter Milan are willing to sell the defender this summer and a lot of clubs have indicated their interest in signing the Colombian centre-half.
Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with the defender but it is believed Wenger sees him as the man to partner Koscielny next season and will work hard to sign the defender ahead of our rivals.
However, Speaking back in April, the central defender who only signed for the Italians from Granada revealed
“I want to stay at Inter.
“I am an Inter player and am not thinking about the future right now.
“Coming to Serie A has really helped me improve, although it was difficult at first to adapt to a very tactical and physical league.”
Murillo is a national teammate of David Ospina and the pair helped Colombia to 3rd place in the just concluded Copa America tournament.
