According to reports making the round, West Ham have joined the race to sign Arsenal target Mauro Icardi.
The report further states the Hammers are ready to meet Inter owner Erik Thohir’s €50million (£41.8m) valuation to sign Icardi after being snubbed by AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca.
Reports in Italy on Sunday claims Arsene Wenger is set to schedule a meeting with Icardi’s Wanda Nara wife who is also is representative for a potential summer move.
Icardi signed a contract extension with the Italian club last summer but is believed to be paid a fraction of what he could earn at Arsenal.
“A year ago Icardi was worth €20m (£14m) to Inter,” Nara told Italian website calciomercato.com last week. “They refused [to sell him], and I refused many offers
“Mauro was assured of a contract extension as soon as the club’s financial troubles had been resolved, although that same summer the club had invested money in some very expensive footballers.
“Icardi has never had a problem with waiting, provided everything goes as agreed.”
Arsenal will also have to battle Chelsea and Tottenham for his signature.
