Arsenal have joined the race to sign AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to reports.
The Gunners are intereted in signing a striker this summer but have so far been priced out of deals for most of its top targets. The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette but the fee quoted by the player’s clubs have made it difficult for Arsenal to reach an agreement.
According to reports in Gazzetta Dello Sport, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Carlos Bacca who is seen as a cheaper alternative to the other targets.
The Colombian striker was impressive for Milan last term, scoring 18 goals in 39 appearances for the Serie A club.
West Ham are in talks to sign the striker and it is believed the Hammers are prepared to pay as much as £25m for his services.
Napoli have also been linked with the striker and with the Italian club prepared to sell Higuain, they would have enough money to throw around, meaning Wenger would have to face a bidding war to sign Bacca.
Bacca might not be in the same class as the Higuain and Benzema of this world but the Colombian international has proven himself in Spain and Italy and would be a decent addition to the squad should Wenger firm up his interest in the striker.
