Arsenal have been told how much to pay if we want to secure the services of Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
The Gunners are believed to be keeping tabs on the defender with a view of making a move this summer should Roma decide to sell. The Italian club recently held talks on a contract extension with the player’s camp with the hope of keeping him out of the reach of interested clubs. It appears the player’s camp and Roma has failed to reach an agreement and the player is now eyeing a move to the Premier League.
According to Goal, Roma have placed a whooping £38m price tag on the player. The Italian club are hesitant to let the defender leave and they are hoping such a huge fee would deter interested clubs.
Arsene Wenger is believed to be a fan of Manolas as Arsenal were close to signing the defender in 2014 before Roma swooped in and it is claimed the Gunners boss would still love the work with the Greek international. However, he would have to dig deep into his transfer kitty this time around.
Chelsea are also keen on the defender as Antonio Conte is looking to strengthen his new squad and they could rival Arsenal for Manolas’ signature.
Manolas, is still very young and is undoubtedly one of the best defenders in the Serie A. Going by today market, it wouldn’t be surprising to anyone should Wenger shell out such money on a player with such quality like Manolas.
