Arsenal are interested in signing AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to reports.
The Gunners are interested in signing a striker this summer but have so far been priced out of deals for most of its top targets. The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette but the fee quoted by the player’s clubs have made it difficult for Arsenal to reach an agreement.
However, AC Milan have opted to leave striker Carlos Bacca out of their squad heading to the USA for a pre-season tour in the coming weeks.
“Milan have decided, at the request of Coach Vincenzo Montella, to apply to Carlos Bacca – who arrived in Milan on Thursday – and Mattia De Sciglio – arriving Thursday July 28 – the same criteria as used for Gianluca Lapadula and Leonel Vangioni.
“For that reason, Bacca and De Sciglio will do all their preparations at Milanello, having been left out – for these reasons and not for reasons related to the transfer market – of the list of players for the International Champions Cup for which Milan is expected in the USA.”
The Colombian striker was impressive for Milan last term, scoring 18 goals in 39 appearances for the Serie A club.
West Ham are in talks to sign the striker and it is believed the Hammers are prepared to pay as much as £25m for his services.
Bacca might not be in the same class as the Higuain and Benzema of this world but the Colombian international has proven himself in Spain and Italy and would be a decent addition to the squad should Wenger firm up his interest in the striker.
