Arsenal are closing in on signing a striker this summer, according to reports.
It is no secret that the Gunners are looking to bring in a world class centre forward this summer. The club has been frustrated in its attempt so far but reports in Italy are claiming the club have finally found a breakthrough in its search for a striker.
According to Shoot.co.uk, Napoli’s official radio, Radio kiss Napoli is understood to have announced that Higuain could move to the Emirates this summer.
The report claims Arsenal have offered a bid of £42m + Olivier Giroud and both clubs are closing in on an agreement.
This will come as a huge news to Arsenal fans who were sad with reports that emerged last week claiming Juventus were leading the race to sign Higuain. Although, the reports linking Higuain with Juventus appear to be true, the player is expected to begin a new challenge in the Premier League with Arsenal this summer.
It is also claimed that Napoli would prefer Higuain to move to a club abroad instead of joining Serie A rivals Juventus.
This news is too good to be true as it would finally grant the Gooners their wishes of seeing a world class striker grace the grass of the Emirates. However, losing a player like Giroud and bringing in Higuain wouldn’t be felt immediately but with Danny Welbeck still sidelined until next year, the club could lack a credible back up to Higuain should Giroud move to Napoli, unless Wenger signs another forward.
