Arsenal could struggle to keep one of its best players this summer, according to reports.
Wenger is desperately keen on strengthening his squad as he hopes to build on last season’s second-place finish. However, the French tactician is not finding it easy as several of his key players have been linked with a move away from the club. One of those players is Laurent Koscielny who has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich. According to the Daily Express via Football Insider, Arsenal are looking to keep the defender away from suitors and have offered the player a new deal worth about £90,000 a week to stay at the Emirates.
The report claims both parties failed to reach an agreement on a new deal and Bayern Munich are on red alert and could take advantage of the situation.
The German club are long-term admirers of the defender and they are now exploring the possibility of signing him now that they need to strengthen their defense line.
Arsenal are hesitant to let it’s star defender leave and Wenger is hoping Koscielny would play an important role in the club’s title race next season.
It is unlikely, Koscielny would be allowed to leave the Emirates this summer as Wenger is looking to sign a defender to partner the 30 year old next season. We are hoping both the club and the player find a common ground as regards the new contract as soon as possible for the good of the club.
