Arsenal have been boosted in its attempts to sign a striker, according to reports.
The Gunners have been working actively to sign a centre-forward this summer but have not been successful. The club missed out on Jamie Vardy after the England striker opted to sign a new deal at Leicester City instead of moving to the Emirates while Napoli have been playing hardball over the transfer fee of Gonzalo Higuain. However, there is good news for Arsenal fans from France as regards signing a striker.
According to French Publication L’Equipe via Talksport, Alexandre Lacazette has informed his club Olympic Lyonnaise of his desire to join Arsenal this summer.
Lacazette has been one of the numerous strikers linked with a move to the Emirates. It is claimed the striker is interested in a new challenge but is being careful not to anger the Lyon faithful.
However, the striker is aware of interest from Arsenal as well as Paris Saint Germain and has informed his club of his intentions to leave should either of the club submit a concrete bid.
Lyon know they are not under any pressure to sell because the striker still has about three years left in his contract. The club have now told the striker that he won’t be sold this summer but Lacazette is hoping the club change their stand should any of Arsenal or PSG firm up their interest.
It is believed the striker would stay at least another year at Lyon if any of these two clubs doesn’t come for his services this summer.
It is believed the French striker would cost as much as £42m if Lyon were to consider selling him. Lacazette has shown his quality in the last couple of seasons and would definitely be a good addition to our squad.
