Arsenal are set to lose out in the race to sign Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.
The Gunners has been heavily linked with the striker but Arsenal appeared to pull out of the race after Napoli refused to sell the striker for less than his €94m release clause.
Juventus are now close to signing the striker and the Argentine has reportedly passed a medical at the Turin club yesterday.
According to Italian football Journalist Fabrizio Romano via the Metro, Higuain has signed a deal with Juventus until 2020 and would earn a salary of about €7.5m per year.
Juventus have agreed to pay the striker’s release clause and will pay in two installments with the first half of the payment coming this summer and the second half next summer. The move is now likely to pave way for Manchester United to sign Paul Pogba.
This will come as a big blow to Arsenal fans who were hoping the club sign a world class striker like Higuain. We have already failed to sign Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy this summer after the England striker snubbed a move to the Emirates in favour of signing a new contract at the King Power Stadium.
