Arsene Wenger seems to be very interested in signing a midfielder, according to reports in Italy.
Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Inter Milan over the services of Marcelo Brozovic.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Emirates since the winter transfer window and it appears Wenger is preparing a summer move.
According to Gazetta Dello Sport via Sport Review, Arsenal are looking to sign the 23-year-old midfielder after his impressive performances last season.
The report also claim the midfielder is valued at £25m by the Italian club and Wenger would have to match that figure if he is to have any chance of signing the midfielder. Wenger is looking to bolster his midfield ahead of next season and has earmarked Brozovic as a top target.
However, taking a look at the squad, the team appears well stocked in the midfield department. Wenger recently signed Granit Xhaka for £33m, he also has Mohammed Elneny, Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin and Jack Wilshere as his central midfield options. It is unlikely that Wenger would sign a central midfielder but should a long time target like Brozovic be available, it wouldn’t be surprising if the manager swoops to bring him to the Emirates.
