Nigeria youngster Kelechi Nwakali is expected to formalize his move to the Emirates in the coming days.
The Gunners reportedly agreed to sign the player in March but had to wait until the player clocks 18 before making the move official.
The player clocked 18 on June 12 but the official announcement has been delayed due to his international commitments. With the Nigeria U20 side having failed to qualify for the Africa U20 championship, Nwakali is now set to travel to London to complete his move to Arsenal.
ASJ Academy CEO Amajiriaku revealed the player will now travel to London to complete his move following the end of his international commitments with the Nigeria U20.
“Kelechi is leaving Nigeria between 30th and 31st of July, his ticket has already been booked. His senior brother Allwell and his mother will accompany him on the trip,” ASJ Academy CEO Amajiriaku said.
“He is in high spirits because he is joining Arsenal, he is one hundred percent fit.”
“He felt sorry that the Flying Eagles could not qualify for the Nations Cup and has insisted that it is not the fault of the players. Heaven knows what happened, that is the way God wants it,” he added.
Nwakali would be the Gunners fourth Summer signing after Xhaka, Asano and Holding should he complete a move to the club in the coming days.
